Hang Tight/Loose Blaine County, Idaho 2024
About the Trail
Hang Tight and Hang Loose create a 3.3 mile loop that starts and ends at Old Cutters Park in Hailey. From the east side of the park, Hang Tight takes off through the cut in the trees and shadows the hillside until it turns east up Hangman Gulch. About 1/3 mile from the park, you will reach a three way intersection. At the intersection, Hang Tight will stay straight, continuing up the drainage while Hang Loose trail peels off to your right.
Follow Hang Tight up the drainage for a moment, you will then start to climb the hillside to your right. The climb contains a few switchbacks and long contours across the slope. Hang Tight provides a gradual climb that is perfect for hiking, running, or mountain biking as it climbs up the drainage and eventually takes you to a low saddle where you can look down into Quigley Canyon, Hangman Gulch, and a small unnamed draw above Hailey.
This trail was made possible through the hard work of BLM, IMBA, City of Hailey, WRTC, and BCRD.
