Samson’s Rampage Blaine County, Idaho 2025
About the Trail
Samson’s Rampage is a 5.5-mile singletrack constructed on the south-facing slopes of Croy Canyon, Idaho, between 5,792 and 6,410 feet in elevation. Designed primarily for motorized use, the trail was aligned along natural contours to manage grades and minimize cut-and-fill in steep terrain.
Average grades are approximately 10%, with short pitches up to 25%. The trail features consistent benching, moderate exposure, and a native, rough tread surface with no constructed bike-specific features. Design emphasizes durability, drainage, and long-term sustainability rather than a groomed finish.
Seasonal maintenance will focus on preserving drainage, vegetation management, and re-benching as needed in steeper sections. The trail is open to motorized users, Class 1–3 e-bikes, mountain bikes, equestrians, and hikers.
Constructed by the BLM Shoshone Field Office in partnership with the Wood River Trails Coalition and Titus Trails, the project was authorized under the BLM Wood River Valley Recreation and Access Decision Record.
